Ludacris has a busy summer lined up, according to recent reports the hip hop mogul signed R&B singer Jarvis, launched a website for aspiring musical talent and is busy at work on his fall release âTheater of the Mind.â The recently signed R&B singer Jarvis, known to some for his debut album released under Tricycle Music at the age of 16 kicks off a summer of fresh new music from DTP (Disturbing the Peace Records). Now at the age of 19, the Tulsa, Oklahoma native is focusing on his sophomore album led by the recently released summer hit âPretty Girl.â With a little help from Rock City and producer âMadd Scientistâ Jarvis shows growth and maturity on his new effort due later this year. As for Ludacris, the hip-hop star and mogul launched WeMix.com this week where aspiring musicians can upload material, collaborate with others and receive feedback. This is a site where you can get your music heard,” he said. “You put your original music on here, you can get feedback, and this is a new way for music industry executives to sit in the comfort of their own homes and look for artists.” The Grammy winner said he remembers how hard it was “trying to get into the music game myself.” “What’s most important is that they don’t have any pressure from the outside world; they can (upload) their original content with no one telling them how their music should be,” he said. Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges, said he’s found country and alternative artists he may add to his Disturbing tha Peace imprint, distributed by Def Jam Recordings. “We’re actually looking to sign some artists from the site already,” he said. In addition to the new online venture, Ludacris is busy at work on his new album âTheater of Mindâ slated for release in September. The star is also featured in upcoming films including âMax Payneâ and âRocknRollaâ the latter of which is due in theaters October 31st.
