Former New Edition front man, Ralph Tresvant is making a comeback this year in celebration of his 25th Anniversary in music including the release of his next album and an appearance in the upcoming film âMama I Want To Sing.â Slated to appear in the highly anticipated film âMama I Want To Sing,â Ralph Tresvant joins an already stellar cast including chart topping R&B singer Ciara, who will play the lead role of Amara Winter. The âMr. Telephone Manâ singer is expected to play the role of Reverend Kenneth Winter in the story of a preacher’s daughter(Ciara), who rises from the church choir to international pop superstardom. Lynn Whitfield, Patti Labelle, and Bobby Valentino are also expected to appear in the film due for a limited release October 10th. This summer the R&B singer/actor steps out on his own again with the release of a new album led by the single âIt Must Be You.â Available on July 1st âIt Must Be Youâ is Tresvantâs first release since 2006’s independent album Rizz Wa Faire. An industry insider says “It Must Be You, is an incredible song, it’s very catchy, there is nothing like it on the charts today, it’s an undeniable radio hit, this is the Ralph Tresvant, I’ve been waiting for.” Ralph Tresvant has a lot to celebrate, the artist is taking complete control of his career by releasing his new single through his own independently owned and operated label “Xzault Media Group” that has direct distribution deals with Apple’s iTunes, I.O.D.A and other national retailers that he says, gives him the freedom and power to provide his music directly to his fans in an up close and personal way. Later this year, Tresvant plans to hit the road for an up close and personal tour, performing his new hits, past solo hits and New Edition hits such as âCandy Girlâand âMr. Telephone Manâ in a very intimate up close and personal setting. âIt Must Be Youâ hits iTunes and other retailers July 1st.
