Robin Thicke is feeling the âMagicâ on his new single due May 20th, the first cut from his third studio album due this summer. The R&B singer introduced his soulful sound to the world on the platinum certified album âThe Evolution of Robin Thickeâ in 2006. Since then the artist who earned praise for his soulful and classic sound on records like âCan U Believeâ and âWanna Love U Girlâ has been working on the follow up album tentatively titled âSomething Else,â which the singer reportedly wrote and produced from start to finish. An accomplished songwriter, Thicke has worked with R&B and pop artists including Mya, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony and recently on Ashantiâs latest project âThe Declaration.â On âMagic,â the uptempo first single from âSomething Else,â Thicke expands on his sultry, classic R&B sound reminiscent of a âfeel goodâ Marvin Gaye or Isaac Hayes record where Thicke explains âsometimes you feel no hope, Iâve been there across that lonely road.â Celebrating with horns, horns and more horns he croons about that perfect relationship on âMagicâ saying â âI can make it alright, I can wake up in paradise. We got that magic girl.â After the success of Thickeâs âEvolution,â including the hit single âLost Without You,â which earned the singer two 2007 BET Award Nominations. Itâs evident that the singer has the âMagicâ to wow fans yet again. Thickeâs âMagicâ is slated for release on May 20th, with âSomething Elseâ due July 1st via StarTrak/Interscope.
