R&B singer/songwriter Montell Jordan is preparing to release his 7th studio album “Let It Rain” later this year. Recognized often for his 1995 hit “This Is How We Do It,” the singer’s new album comes after an almost five year hiatus from music. Jordan, who has also produced hit singles for Sisqo (“Incomplete”) and Deborah Cox (“Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here”) released his last album “Life After Def” in 2003 shortly after departing Def Soul where he had released five albums. The singer has come a long way on this new album where he admits “I didn’t want to do music again until I was ready to love it again. I think the journey I have been on over the last couple of years has taught me to love my family, my life, my music and most of all myself.” The “Get It On Tonite” singer further explains “I found the passion again, and combined with my life experiences I will share, I think this album is going to take me and the world on a musical journey beyond our wildest imaginations.” Indeed, it seems like the multi platinum recording artist is in a new place with this record. The first single also titled “Let It Rain,” is a pulse pounding track set to prove that everything is alright and tighter than ever with the star. “It began in front of the mirror” Jordan says of the title track further explaining “That song was written as I experienced some trials over the last couple of years, but the theme proclaims that against all odds, everything is still going to be alright.” Jordan’s personal favorite titled “Comatose” is slated to appear on the album as a bonus song detailing where he intends to take his fans next. In addition to the new album Jordan, who is now a father of three has released an autobiography entitled “Reflections” inspired by his personal musical journey and has begun filming “Montellevision” a new reality series based on his family experiences and re-emergence into the music world. Stay tuned to Singersroom for more on Montell Jordan and his new album “Let It Rain.”
