According to an announcement, superstar newcomer Leona Lewis, Queen, the Soweto Gospel Choir and Annie Lennox are some of the talents booked to appear at a concert for Nelson Mandelaâs 90th birthday in June. All Proceeds from the event will go to his Aids charity. Itâs said that Mandela will travel to London for the event which is due to take place at Hyde Park on the 27th June. Tickets for this event go on sale this Friday. Organizers are hoping to drawn a crowd of 46,664 which is said to be Mr Mandelaâs old prison number. In a statement Organizers said that âseveral major artists are keeping silent about their involvement in order to take both Mr Mandela and the audience by surprise.â South African-based pop star Johnny Clegg is in the line up and so are a number of other African acts including Sipho Mabuse, Papa Wemb, Loyiso and Emmanuel Jal.
