R&B singer Corinne Bailey Rae, Mark Ronson and around 150 other family and friends paid their final respects to Rae’s husband Jason Rae Monday. A hearse with the word Jason spelt out in white flowers could be seen as the first mourners arrived at St George’s Church in the centre of Bailey Rae’s home city of Leeds. Saxophonist Jason Rae, 31, a member of the funk band the Haggis Horns, was originally from Aberdeen, and a few attending wore kilts. The service, which lasted 90 minutes, was a strictly private affair, with journalists and the public excluded. When she emerged Bailey Rae was whisked away in the waiting car to attend the wake. Bailey Rae, 29, met her husband while working as a cloakroom attendant at a Leeds jazz club. They married in 2001. Mr Rae’s body was found in a Leeds flat on Saturday, March 22. He is thought to have died from a drugs overdose.
