British R&B Mark Morrison will back the forthcoming release of his “King of British R&B: The Best Of.. Mark Morrison” album with his first ever, 15-date headline European tour this summer. “King of British R&B: The Best Of.. Mark Morrison”, due for release this summer, is Morrison’s first career-spanning retrospective. The singerâs latest project will include songs spanning 15 years of his career. Including the hit singles âReturn Of The Mackâ, âCrazyâ, âHornyâ, âTrippinâ, and âMoan & Groanâ. Along with Mackâs post-prison, Top 20 releases âWhoâs The Mackâ, âBest Friendâ which saw Mack team up with UK Soul Queen Gabrielle and soulstar Connor Reeves, and his most recent offering âInnocent Manâ featuring US rap superstar DMX. Mark Morrison is the most successful British R&B male artist of all time. His debut album in 96â, ‘Return Of The Mack’ sold millions worldwide, and became the first ever debut album by a solo artist to give birth to five Top 10 singles. The title track also entitled âReturn Of The Mackâ reached number 1 in the UK and was number 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States for an incredible two months, while the album itself won several platinum awards. Although he became a commercial success nearly overnight, his career was plagued by run-ins with the law that prevented him from consolidating his position as a superstar. This however did not stop him from receiving a MERCURY PRIZE nomination, an MTV EUROPE award nomination, 4 BRIT AWARD nominations and 5 MOBO nominations, of which he won BEST R&B ACT. The best of album entitled “King of British R&B: The Best Of.. Mark Morrison”, will be released in Summer 2008.
