Singer R. Kelly was in the Cook County Courthouse in Chicago on Monday (January 14th) for a hearing in his child pornography case. During the proceedings Judge Vincent Gaughan again rejected the prosecution’s request to have a doctor testify about why the girl in the case would deny she was the victim. Kelly is facing several charges after videotaping himself engaging in sex with an underage girl. The case has been delayed for more than five years, and the girl involved has since denied that she was the female pictured in the video. Prosecutors turned to Dr. Sharon Cooper, a forensic and developmental pediatrician, planning to have her testify that victims of child abuse tend to deny their abuse. Gaughan previously stuck down the prospect of having Cooper testify, and reaffirmed the ruling again on Monday.
