R&B singer Solange Knowles, who released her debut album ‘Solo Star’ in 2003, is no longer on the same record label as her older sister Beyonce Knowles. According to reports, Solange is moving to Los Angeles after signing a new deal with Geffen Records, home to music stars Mary J. Blige, Macy Gray, Fergie, Nelly Furtado and Keyshia Cole. According to Chanel Green, a rep for Solange, the forthcoming project will be “a new joint venture relationship with Music World Music,” which is helmed by the singers’ father Mathew Knowles. A Geffen spokesperson had no further information on the deal, when reached for comment. The young, single mother â who has dabbled in songwriting and acting over the past few years â will reportedly record for the Geffen Records label, already home to music stars Mary J. Blige, Macy Gray, Fergie, Nelly Furtado and Keyshia Cole. As an actress, the 21-year-old Houston native, appeared in ‘Johnson Family Vacation,’ and also appeared on the TV show ‘One on One,’ as well as in ‘The Brothers Garcia,’ in a special guest role. She then starred in ‘Bring It On: All or Nothing,’ which was released on DVD last year. As a songwriter, Solange has written and co-written songs for Destiny’s Child , Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and Trin-I-Tee 5:7.
