Geffen Records platinum-selling R&B star Keyshia Cole becomes the first female in the history of the 14-year old Nielsen BDS-based Urban chart to land three consecutive #1s as a lead artist as her hit single “Let It Go” climbs 3-1. “Let It Go,” which features Missy Elliott & Lil Kim, follows “I Should Have Cheated,” which topped the list in December 2005, and “Love,” from April 2006. In between “Love” and “Let It Go,” Cole was the featured vocalist on two hit #1 songs that weren’t on her platinum-selling disc: with Sean Paul, they sprung to #1 with “(When You Gonna) Give It Up To Me” and with Diddy they produced the #1 smash with the award-nominated “Last Night.” Cole has finished working on her second album, Just Like You. Producers on the album include Kanye West, Scott Storch, Bryan Michael Cox & Greg Curtis. The album is scheduled to be released September 25, 2007 In preparation for the release of the album, BET will air a second season of Cole’s reality show “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is” prior to the album’s release for promotion. It will focus on Cole recording her second album, her mother’s recent release from jail, and her sister Neffe. She will be making an appearance in an MTV film this year titled “How She Moves” as herself. Be sure to check out Keyshia Cole next week, September 6th as she performs the National Anthem live on NBC @ 8:00 PM during the kick off of the NFL season as the Indianapolis Colts square off with the New Orleans Saints.
