R&B singer AKON is adamant he is innocent of potential criminal charges after he allegedly threw a teenage fan into the audience at a New York concert. Video footage from Yahoo/ABC News shows the âSmack Thatâ hitmaker hurling a concertgoer into the crowd at an event in Fishkill, New York, on Sunday (Jun 3). While no criminal charges have yet been filed over the incident, police are in contact with the alleged victim – a 15-year-old boy from Harriman, NY. A statement from Akon’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman reads, “Given the information that we have reviewed to date, it does not appear to us that Akon was involved in any criminal conduct whatsoever. We are prepared to fully cooperate with any law enforcement agency that may be investigating this incident. We are confident that after a thorough investigation it will be apparent that no criminal prosecution of Akon is warranted.” This is the second teen-related controversial incident for Akon – last month the singer apologized after a dirty-dancing incident with a 14-year-old girl onstage. In related news, A 26-year-old woman says she suffered a concussion when the thrown teenager landed on her head after being tossed off the stage. Abby Rosa of Delaware County tells the Poughkeepsie Journal that she suffered a headache and blurry vision and was later diagnosed with a concussion.
