Mary J. Blige will be featured in the upcoming installments of MTVâs âUnplugged,â the intimate acoustic-performance series, the network announced this week. The new season kicks off Thursday, June 22, with Bon Jovi, who some say inspired the program with their acoustic set at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. Other artists tapped for this season include The Police, Kenny Chesney and John Mayer. R&B star MYA has reportedly signed on to judge a new talent show where wannabes sing in the shower. The singer will front a new MTV series, called âShower Power,â with U.S. reality TV stars Jai Rodriguez and âDancing With the Starsâ champ Drew Lachey. Contestants are asked to perform their favorite tunes while taking a shower on the new show – but MTV bosses insist none of them will be allowed to be nude on camera. A two-day auction in Las Vegas of Michael Jackson’s personal possessions and some Jackson family mementos, has raked in a lackluster $1 million, Yahoo news. Universal Express chief executive Richard Altomare disputed Guernsey’s tally and said the auction made between $1.5 million and $2 million. Altomare insisted his company was “happy with the results of this first one,” and said a second auction would be held for additional Jackson family memorabilia but no date was announced. “We still have tens of thousands of additional smaller items that we think will be exciting,” Altomare declared, including Michael Jackson gloves and other clothing, and recordings of never-released Jackson family songs. Ray J has reportedly landed a deal with Trojan, America’s leading condom company, following his sex tape with ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. The young entrepreneur insists he has no problems with the quirky deal – because it’s all just business: “At this moment you can either sit back and watch everything just go, or you can capitalize and come up with a way to make $20 million a year.”
