By calling (312) 278-3965, you can hear a six minutes long phone message revealing information about R. Kellyâs new album, from the pied-piper himself. The number patches callers directly to the “Chocolate Factory,” where you can listen to Kelly introducing snippets of songs from the album, which he says is called Double Up. âWhatâs up yallâ, this Kells, Iâm glad âyall called. Iâm in the studio right nowâ¦since âyall called, Iâma give âyall a snippet of what Iâm about to hit âyall with. Hold on, turn it offâ¦this song called âBlow it Upâ with Jeezyâ¦and I got Young Dro on here, they killinâ it.â Following this message is a brief sound byte of the song “Blow it Up.” After the song finishes playing, R. Kelly comes back on: âCanât give âyall the whole song. This next song Iâm doin, itâs called âLeave ya name,â you feel me?â The song âLeave Ya Nameâ plays out like a musical version of an answering machine message. In a similar fashion, R. Kelly previews the songs âDouble Upâ ft. Snoop Dogg, âFreakinâ In the Club,â âPut Some Money on Itâ ft. Rick Ross, âHookinâ Upâ with Kanye West, and âRock Starâ with Ludacris. “Two hands holding on to each other: that’s how I look at R&B and Hip Hop,” says Kelly, explaining that Double Up’s focus is on just the kind of gray area between the two that has been such fertile ground for him recently. He goes on to say the record is about 70% hip hop, which makes sense since his guests include Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Rick Ross, and Young Dro. The phone number to reach the Chocolate Factory Hotline is 312-278-3965. The album Double Up is set to be released May 29th.
