R&B singer Brian McKnight has a new gig as a radio personality. McKnight, who just released his latest album, Ten, in December 2006, starts hosting his own live, daily radio program, “The Brian McKnight Morning Show,” on smooth jazz radio station KTWV (aka 94.7 The Wave) on MLK Day (Jan. 15, 2007) in Los Angeles. The show will air weekdays from 6 am to 9 am Pacific Standard Time (that’s 9 am to noon on the East Coast in the U.S.). McKnight’s show replaces a similar one that Jazz musician Dave Koz hosted on the station for six years. “The Wave is one of my favorite radio stations, so to be joining the station is incredibly exciting,” he told industry trade magazine ‘Radio & Records.’ “Pat and I have a lot of exciting things planned, and I can’t wait to get started.” Koz, who’s giving up his show in order to go on a world tour, has promised to sit in with McKnight his first few days on the air. And if you’re wondering: yes, you’ll be able to stream the show via the station’s website.
