You may see her as 1/5 of the group Danity Kane, but D. Woods can be known for so much more. She has accomplishments in musical theater and dramatic stage productions appeared in commercials, music videos, and toured as a dancer with major recording artists. D. Woods grew up in the small city of Springfield, Mass where she first developed her love for performing. She later spent her teen years in Atlanta, GA, where she currently resides, attending Tri-Cities Magnet High School for Visual and Performing Arts. D. Woods has captivated every aspect of performance; she has studied modern, ballet, hip-hop, West African dance, undergone intensive voice and acting training, developed songwriting skills and educated herself about the entertainment business. A fan of Mary J Blige, Whitney Houston, Brandy, Jay-Z, Madonna, Stevie Wonder just to name a few?D. Woods is equally at home in several genres of music. D. Woods success is on the rise. She was recently a contestant on Diddy’s MTV’s smash reality series “Making the Band 3,” and now she’s made it with the all girl band Danity Kane. Danity Kane’s music is an intoxicating mix of sexy R&B, hip-hop and pop that showcases the quintet’s flawless vocal talent and passion. Diddy is the album’s Executive Producer, with Bad Boy Executive VP Harve Pierre serving as Co-Executive Producer. D. Woods has been on the road with big acts such as the Black Eye Peas with the group and will be touring alongside Christina Aguilera for the 2007 tour. The group’s album debuted at number# 1 on the Billboard charts and has gone certified Platinum. So what’s in store for D. Woods? The sky’s the limit. D. Woods has great aspirations, dreams and goals. She will be making a cameo appearance in the film ” Stomp the Yard”, starring Columbus Short, Meagan Good and recording artist Ne-Yo, just to name a few. Stomp the Yard is produced by Will Packer and is tentatively to be released in Winter of 2007. Look for a whole lot more of D. Woods, as she reaches for the stars.
