The family of R&B crooner Gerald Levert has arranged a public musical tribute for the late singer, who died last week at the age of 40. The “Celebration of Life” will take place at 12:00 p.m. Friday (Nov. 17) at the Cleveland Music Hall. Doors will open promptly at 11:00am. R&B greats Stevie Wonder, Johnny Gill and Angie Stone are among the artists set to perform, as well as Gerald’s younger brother Sean, who sung with him as a member of the R&B trio LeVert. A special area has been dedicated for fans that wish to pay their final respects to Levert. Seating will be on a first come, first served basis. The Levert family is asking that donations be made to the R&B Foundation. Checks should be written in the name of the R&B Foundation and forwarded to Andy Gibson c/o Trevel Productions, Inc., 13816 Cedar Road, University Heights, OH 44118. At the time of his death, Levert had finished an as-yet-untitled album, due in February, and wrapped his first book, “I Got Your Back,” which he co-wrote with his father Eddie Levert, Sr., and author Lyah LeFlore.
