R&B acts Gnarls Barkley and Justin Timberlake both won two trophies last night at the 13th annual MTV Europe Music Awards, held in Copenhagen , Denmark. Gnarls Barkley won best song for their international hit “Crazy,” and the Future Sounds award. Timberlake, who also served as host and performer at the event, won for best male and best pop. The also Other winners included Kanye West for best Hip Hop, Christina Aguilera for best female and Rihanna for best R&B. This year MTV extended the coverage of its mainstream European awards event across its new media platforms. According to Billboard.com, the network streamed three concurrent feeds on its dedicated MTV EMA Web site, and delivered a mobile TV simulcast which was accessible, it boasts, to more than 20 million European 3G users. “We’ve taken this to a whole new level on the digital side. It’s no longer TV-centric,” MTV Networks International president Bill Roedy tells Billboard.com. “We see it as the biggest multi-platform event, anywhere.”
