R&B diva Whitney Houston has filed for divorce from her husband Bobby Brown. Her publicist Nancy Seltzer confirms the filing but declines to reveal where or when Houston filed the divorce papers, and says the singer has no statement to make. Houston and Brown married in 1992 and have had a sometimes turbulent marriage, with rumors of their breakup surfacing often over the years. The couple live in Alpharetta, Georgia., and have one child, a 13-year-old daughter. Houston had her greatest musical success in the 1980s and ’90s when she won multiple Grammys and had several Number One records on Billboard’s Hot 100. Among them was the megahit “I Will Always Love You,” from the 1992 film “The Bodyguard,” in which she also starred opposite Kevin Costner. The 37-year-old Brown has a history of drug and alcohol arrests and was sentenced to 90 days in jail in 2004 for missing three months of child support payments for his two other children.
