According to the daily news, HEATHER HEADLEY reports that she’s already laying plans to be back in the recording studio before year’s end – even though her sophomore album, “In My Mind,” continues to make noise, with its second single about to be released. “I’m already looking to the third album because I don’t want it to take as long as the second one,” says the Broadway star (Elton John/Tim Rice’s “Aida,” “The Lion King”) whose 2002 debut album, “This Is Who I Am,” garnered two Grammy nominations, for best new artist and best r&b vocalist. Headley is also on RCA?s Chief Clive Davis’ short list of superstars-to-be. Headley says her next CD is “really going to be my baby- baby, and there might even be a change in genre. My aim is to sing great music, and I don’t like to be pigeonholed. I hate it when people say, `This is what you have to do because you look the way you do’ or `You should sing to a certain crowd.’ When I did Broadway, they never did that to me. It was like `You can do whatever you want.”‘ Take that as a lesson folks
