Mary J Blige adores performing as her rap alter-ego Brook, because it means she can go wild without damaging her dignified persona. According to Contactmusic, The R&B hitmaker, who featured the stage name on her album The Breakthrough, was also asked to “bring Brook” along when she joined Busta Rhymes for his remix release Touch It. She explains, “I had to separate the two because Mary is nice, you know, intelligent – Brook is crazy and ignorant and she don’t care. “Brook cut loose on the Busta record, she did her thing. “Busta didn’t just want Mary on it, he wanted Mary and Brook. So the calm one is Mary, but the (wild) one is Brook.”
