City High singer/songwriter Ryan Toby is set to drop his solo debut ?Soul of a Songwriter? independently through his own label Overflow on Feb. 28. Toby, who has written for such artists as LL Cool J, Usher, Mary J. Blige and Amerie, said in a statement: ?No one writes songs for women anymore. No one really makes the ladies feel special. My album is about love, relationships. It’s time for a true R&B collection.? In the late 90s, Toby formed City High with Claudette Ortiz and Robby Pardlo. Their self-titled album debut sold 500,000 copies and spawned the hits ?What Would You Do? and ?Carmel.?
