Long time Radio personality Ed Lover was arrested on Thursday (December 11) and charged with third-degree assault, for allegedly punching a woman in a New York nightclub on Sunday (December 11). According to MTV News, Lover faces two separate counts, one count of attempted assault and one count of second-degree harassment. The radio DJ is accused of punching a 26-year-old woman, who has been identified by witnesses as Letitia Belford. She reportedly suffered a mild concussion and a gash that required 20 stitches. Lover was reportedly partying with friends at New York’s Duvet nightclub, when the victim and one of his female friends bumped into each other, then began fighting. When a bouncer attempted to break up the fight, Lover allegedly made his way over to the two women and slugged the victim in the face. Lover turned himself in to police with his attorney, Michael Berger, by his side and was arraigned later that afternoon and released on $1,000 bail, according to MTV News. He is scheduled to be in court on March 23
