With a major motion picture making its way to theaters this month and a nearly 10 week holding no.1 single, Jamie Foxx doesn’t need anything else. In fact, his new single “I Don’t Need It” recently premiered and he’s making it official via Tyra Banks’ daytime show. Foxx, in his ninth week atop urban mainstream radio and no.1 across the R&B charts at Billboard with “Blame It,” will perform “I Don’t Need It” on Tyra next week just after Friday’s release of “The Soloist”. As previously reported on Singersroom, Foxx considered “The Soloist” one of his most challenging roles to date. Also starring Robert Downey Jr., “The Soloist” features Foxx’s already Oscar buzzworthy role as Nathaniel Ayers Jr, a Julliard musician and musical prodigy who becomes schizophrenic and eventually homeless. “The Soloist” premieres Friday, April 24. A video for “I Don’t Need It” is set to premiere in May. Listen to “I Don’t Need It” right HERE on Singersroom.
