Soul and Smooth Jazz artist Lindsey Webster give Singersroom readers an exclusive listen of her latest studio album, Love Inside, which will arrive on Friday, March 16th.
On the 12-songs opus, the number one charting Billboard singer and songwriter continues to elevate her craft by blessing us with a cleverly-written, soulful, and eargasmic body of work the include elements of R&B, jazz, pop, and soul.
‘Love Inside,’ Webster’s sophomore Shanachie recording, is about realizing the power that each of us possess as individuals. Webster, along with her pianist and husband Keith Slattery, explore the world of love and loss in relationships as well as the love needed to unite and honor one another’s humanity.
“So frequently, we are looking outside of ourselves for the answers, when most of the time, we need to address what is within, first,” states Webster. “I thought it to be an appropriate title for this album with all of the negativity and animosity that runs rampant in today’s world.”
The project also includes a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a song inspired by the recent heated debates in this country about immigration.
Webster is the first artist since Sade to have a vocal hit on the contemporary jazz charts (she has two #1s); she was crowned Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Artist of the Year in 2016 & 17.
Webster, who grew up in Woodstock, came up listening to her parents, Beatles and Elvis Costello LPs and is influenced by everyone from Mariah Carey to Earth, Wind and Fire.
