Self proclaimed Gospop recording artist Ton3x feels right at home with Battery Records and the somewhat controversial album cover for “Unspoken”. Speaking with Singersroom recently, Ton3x credits Battery Records for “taking it old school”. “One thing I like about Battery is theyâre keeping it rookie and taking it back old school. Theyâre saying if it doesnât happen with this album weâre committed to seeing it developed into something and then building one fan at a time,” says Ton3x. “Unspoken,” Ton3x’s recently released album, featuring the single “Blend,” also becomes Battery Records’ first major release. “It hasnât even been a year, so weâre still learning each other. Sometimes now itâs a little overwhelming because I donât think anyone was anticipating the anticipation of this record â even I wasnât. I totally undersold it.” After several years of ups and downs, Ton3x says his album cover represents not only an artistic stance but a personal choice to be “silent”: “Now itâs like let me shut my mouth. Let me tape up my mouth and letâs let the music speak. I donât think that the whole story is necessary now â at least not with Google. If they want to find that story itâs there.” For more on “Unspoken,” including the complete concept behind the album cover, and Ton3x’s return to theatre, click here for Part 1 of Singersroom’s exclusive interview with Ton3x.
