Rihanna’s decision to reunite with Chris Brown has been the subject of much debate, especially with the adverse effect the reunion could have on the singer’s career. According to a recently uncovered study, Rihanna’s career could suffer if she continues to find comfort in the arms of Chris Brown ! The study, uncovered by TMZ and commisioned by cosmetic giant Revlon was distributed in an online survey format and attempted to guage consumer opinion of a woman who stars in an ad, then asked the viewer if Rihanna is an “appropriate spokeswoman” for that very product. While the cosmetic giant will likely remain mum on the final results, the fact that a study would be put together at this time means there is some belief that Rihanna’s face is not appropriate — especially when attempting to reach young women. Fans will likely continue to support Rihanna but there will be those who will look at her decision to return to her alleged abuser as reprehensible or unforgiving. So far the pop diva seems to be of interest to fans, but her decisions from here on out could effect the way the public perceives her. Perception, an important factor with not just recording artists and entertainers, but with politicians as well, will directly correlate to the singer’s album sales, singles and potentially endorsements. Just like Chris Brown, Rihanna is a public figure and it is after all the public’s right to either accept or reject her. In related news, People magazine retracted its Thursday story that confirmed a Chris Brown and Rihanna duet that was said to have been recorded after their alleged Feb.8 altercation. Retracting the story, PEOPLE says: “Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident”.
