Yesterday, fans of Mary J. Blige were shocked to hear that she and her husband/manager of twelve years, Kendu Isaacs, were heading for divorce. TMZ reported she filed papers earlier this week.
Blige has released a statement via her rep:
“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”
On the court docs, Blige cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason her the termination of her marriage, but a source close to Singersroom tells us the reason for the divorce is Kendu’s cheating.
