From his debut EP 70 WEST, R&B rock star Reasn releases the visual for one of the set’s tunes, “American Dream,” and it can’t come at a more raw time.
The video features a group of young black boys who pass out bibles after one preaches to the others. As the black-and-white clip progresses, you realize there’s more to what’s in those bibles than just verses, and it leads to tragedy; it’s all in pursuit of the American dream.
“Had a dream I was president, then I woke up in jail / It’s the American dream if your real life is hell,” he sings before demanding “let me out of these chains,” Reasn sings.
