Just one day after legendary boxer/activist Muhammad Ali passed away (Saturday, June, 4) Andra Day and John Legend paid tribute to the icon with an emotional performance of “The Greatest Love of All” at the taping of Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards.
Legend opened the performance with a speech: “The Champ was the towering figure of our times—in the boxing ring and beyond. He was a freedom fighter who used his fists and his wits, his force and his faith to make our world a better and more just place,” he said before sitting down at the piano for a stirring duet of George Benson’s 1977 song (made famous by Whitney Houston).
