Hey, Roomies!
Please take some time to help out our friend, Cory Taylor. He’s the co-founder of RnB Spotlight, the independent music artist platform originally at BB King’s, and later at SOB’s in NYC.
Taylor is an entrepreneur (21 Voices Entertainment) and music manager, as he was featured on WE TV’s season 1 and season 2 (2013 -2015) of R&B, Grammy Award–nominated vocal trio, SWV’s reality series, “SWV Reunited.” During that time he served as their full-time Manager. Cory also served as full-time Manager for Meelah, former lead singer of the R&B group, 702, and was responsible for securing Meelah on TV One’s R&B Divas back in 2013.
Unfortunately, Cory suffered a stroke in February, leaving him temporarily paralyzed on his right side and unable to work. With the help of intense rehab, Cory has learned to walk again with a cane, but he still needs to gain mobility in his right hand and right leg. Medical expenses are mounting, and his business partner Jonathan Bates has erected a GoFundMe page to help raise money for Taylor’s mounting medical expenses.
“It is my hope that I can implore the social media community, humanitarians, and lovers of R&B to participate in this fundraising by making a donation,” Bates writes. “Please know that every penny of your donation will go directly to Cory, and help to offset his mounting daily bills and expenses (mortgage, utilities, groceries, etc.), and the cost of needed physical rehabilitation.”
He continued, “It is my hope that anyone who has ever attended RnB Spotlight over the years, or has performed on the RnB Spotlight stage, or simply love R&B, find it not robbery to help a good man who has helped so many. I asked that those who know Cory Taylor personally, to please assist in getting the word out and sharing this campaign on your social media pages. Your donation, regardless of sum, is very much appreciated and needed!”
The goal is to help raise a minimum of, $15,000.00. Please click HERE to donate to Cory’s GoFundMe page.
