Today (May 20), Ameriie dropped her first new music in seven years with an EP titled Drive. However before that, she visited Power 105’s The Breakfast Club on Thursday morning (May 19) to catch up about everything from what she’s been up to during her musical hiatus, rumors, the new spelling of her name with the extra “i”, Beyonce comparisons, and much more.
During the 40-minute chat, the writer/singer dished on new music and upcoming Sci-Fi literature. “I’m working on another [EP] that I want to put out in July. I have an anthology coming out, a villain-themed anthology [Because You Love to Hate Me] with a lot of best-selling authors. I’ve been doing a lot of writing too. I love writing. That’s what I did when I was really, really young. I’m working on a sci-fi fantasy trilogy.”
About her drop out of the spotlight, Ameriie is just a normal, down-to-earth, creative person who doesn’t need fame. “I know I disappeared and people are like, ‘What happened?’ It’s because, I don’t really chase after fame. I don’t really love red carpets. Maybe it’s because of the OCD thing. They just give me a lot of anxiety…People ask me to do reality shows, but that’s not me.”
