Last night (May 11), a private memorial service was held for the late Prince in Beverly Hills at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater for his family and close friends.
The service was hosted and organized and hosted by both his ex-wives Manuela Testolini and Mayte Garcia. Those on the friends list included some major celebs, such as Janelle Monae, Nile Rodgers, Gwen Stefani, Herbie Hancock, and Eric Benet (who is now married to Testolini).
According to Billboard, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes opened the ceremony with a touching performance the icon’s “Sometimes it Snows in April. Janelle Monae and Esperanza Spaulding also performed.
