Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer Novel has dropped a new tune, and you may “Die A Little” inside when you hear it.
Using cool synths over a Mark Ronson-sampled hip-hop beat, Novel expresses his pain when witnessing his crush be hurt by another guy: “Girl you know he treats you wrong, you could do so much better,” he sings before hitting soulful, Al-Green-inspired vocals and adlibs.
Guitarist Alex Naylor appears on the song and in the clip for a guitar solo.
The musician released his previous project, Red Wine & Ambien II, in 2014.
