Jill Scott, Jussie Smollett, Queen Latifah, and Tyrese are among the early-announced winners at the 47th annual NAACP Image Awards.
Winners of non-televised categories were announced Thursday (Feb. 4) at a dinner hosted by Affion Crockett and Nischelle Turner.
Smollett won for “Outstanding New Recording Artist” and “Outstanding Contemporary Song for “You’re So Beautiful” as a part of the “Empire” cast. Tyrese won for “Outstanding Music Video” for “Shame,” and Pharrell Williams won for “Outstanding Male Artist.”
But Jill Scott REALLY cleaned up with three awards: she won “Outstanding Traditional Song” for “Back Together,” “Outstanding Album” for Woman, and “Outstanding Female Artist.”
“Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson will host tonight’s live telecast where the winners of the remaining categories will be announced. Tune in to TV One tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
Congrats to the winners!
