Maybe this year’s Academy Awards won’t be as white as previously expected…
In the first round of announcements, The Weeknd has been declared as one of the performers, along with Sam Smith and Lady Gaga.
The loc-haired singer will perform his hit single “Earned It” from the film Fifty Shades of Grey (which is nominated for Best Original Song), Smith will sing “Writing’s On the Wall” from Spectre, and GaGa will perform “Til It Happens to You” from The Hunting Ground.
Per the announcement on the Academy Awards’ official Twitter account, Pharrell is listed as either a presenter or performer.
