Fresh off the release of “The Way I See It,” Raphael Saadiq is slated to hit the stage for VH1 Soul’s “Soulstage” series. “Soulstage: Raphael Saadiq Presented By Infiniti,” is slated to air Tuesday, September 16th featuring songs from the singer/songwriter’s new album. Saadiq first burst onto the scene as the lead vocalist in the R&B trio Tony!, Toni!, Tone! and has since gone on to produce hit after hit, while also releasing solo projects and work with the group Lucy Pearl. In an exclusive interview with Singersroom recently, Saadiq spoke about the art of performing live. “My dad used to say when you’re onstage youâre this totally different cat and when youâre offstage youâre a whole different cat.” “I’m glad I’m able to do that because if I was that same person thatâs onstage, that would be weird” says the singer who is currently working on a charitable project entitled “Let the Music Play (LMP).” ” It’s really to get the kids out of the community and to a camp that lasts a week or a weekend so they can write songs for different artists. Thatâs what I’m trying to do now.” Raphael Saadiq’s new album “The Way I See It” hits stores and online retailers Tuesday, September 16th.
