Shortly after the “In Memoriam” portion of the 2015 Academy Awards last night (Feb. 22), Jennifer Hudson took to the stage to perform “I Can’t Let Go,” a song sung by her character Veronica Moore from the TV musical, Smash.
Wearing a black gown and diamond-drop earrings, the Oscar-winner entered the stage saying "This is for all the people who have shared their talent and their lives with us." She then belted out the ballad with J-Hud precision.
The “In Memoriam” montage paid homage to those in the industry who passed away last year, including Maya Angelou, Robin Williams, Mickey Rooney, and more.
