Obama popped the question and Jennifer Hudson answered by signing on to sing the national anthem on Thursday – the day Barack Obama delivers his much-anticipated address to the Democratic National Convention in Denver. “His reps called and said we’d love for you to sing the anthem on Thursday,” Hudson’s rep told PEOPLE Monday. “She’s thrilled and excited. It’s a tremendous honor.” Hudson, who releases her self-titled debut album next month had previously expressed a desire to aid the Obama campaign, pledging her support in June âIâm so proud and excited for him.â Hudson will join Bruce Springstein who is scheduled to close the convention on Thursday.
