With well over two months before Mary J. Blige’s new album arrives, the sets track list has been revealed. On the 12-tracks Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul joins forces with some of London’s best including Sam Smith, Disclosure, Naughty Boy and Emeli Sande as she draws inspiration from the London music scene.
“It’s all about the London music scene and I’m so excited to have been part of it, to record my album,” Blige says of the opus, which also features collaborations from Sam Romans, Jimmy Napes, and Eg White. “The songs are fun, therapeutic and soulful. This is a beautiful change for me and I’m proud of what we have done here.”
The London Sessions, due December 2nd, is led by the buzz single "Right Now" and the newly released lead offering “Whole Damn Year,” a weeping ballad about being hurt in a relationship.
Mary J Blige: The London Sessions, her 13th album, follow the recently released soundtrack project, Think Like a Man Too, which arrived in June via Epic. She will perform songs from the album at the iTunes Festival at London's Roundhouse on September 25.
