Fresh off a soul stirring performance and wins at Sunday's Grammy Awards, hit-making producer and recording artist Pharrell Williams has more to celebrate.
According to The Official Charts, his hit single "Happy" has been certified Platinum in the U.K.
"Happy has sold over 600,000 copies in the UK and was certified platinum by British music industry trade body, The BPI, this morning. Pharrell also featured on the two biggest selling singles of 2013, Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines and Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, which have both sold over a million copies," The Official Charts Company reported Sunday, adding that the single had its biggest week last week.
Claiming the top spot on the UK Singles Chart, another 118,000 copies of "Happy" moved over the last seven days, pushing the sales total over 600,000 copies.
In related news, Pharrell is set to perform at the BRIT Awards next month.
"I always look forward to seeing the artists that come together on the BRITs stage. I'm so humbled by this opportunity; performing at the awards will be surreal," he said in a statement.
The BRIT Awards 2014 are slated to take place February 19, at London’s O2 Arena, and will air live on ITV.
