Lil Wayneâs âTha Carter IIIâ rockets straight to the top of the Billboard 200 albums charts again this week. According to figures released by Nielsen Soundscan, Wayneâs album moved another 156,000 copies in the United States in itâs fourth week of release. Featuring the hit singles âA Milliâ and âLollipop,â The Carter III has in total sold over 1.68 million copies since itâs release on June 10th. Not far behind Wayne, Coldplay, whose album âViva La Vida,â topped the charts for the last two weeks dropped to no.2 with sales of just over 149,000 copies. Elsewhere on the chart, G-Unit, featuring 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck debuted fourth on the chart selling just over 102,000 copies of their sophomore effort âT.O.S.ââ Terminate on Sight. In comparison the groupâs 2003 album âBeg For Mercy,â debuted in 2003 with 377,000 copies.. R&B chart toppers Rihanna and Usher also saw sales gains of 40,000 copies for their respective efforts Good Girl Gone Bad and Here I Stand over the week. According to Billboard, at 7.56 million units, sales this week are down 1.4% from last week’s sum and off 13.4% from the same week last year.
