Toni Braxton has no plans in giving up her first love, even though she revealed back in February (2013) that her "heart isn't in it anymore."

With a little convincing from good friend and collaborator Kenneth 'babyface' Edmonds, the R&B diva is now heavily focused on the craft that made her a world-renowned superstar.

“I was going to retire because I was thinking about my career. So he (Babyface) told me you can't think about that, you have to go back to being an artist and performing and loving your artistry,” Braxton tells theGrio.com.

She sternly adds: “Retiring is off the table now. I don't know what I was thinking. I will never retire… ever, ever.”

Braxton and Babyface’s debut duet album, ‘Love, Marriage, Divorce’, will arrive next year (2014).

Are you a fan of R&B singer Toni Braxton? If so, you might have been surprised when she announced her retirement from music in 2020. Braxton cited several reasons for her decision, including health concerns and the desire to spend more time with her family.

But now, it seems that Braxton has had a change of heart. In a recent interview, the Grammy-winning artist revealed that she will never retire from music. That’s right – never, ever.

So what caused this reversal? And what can fans expect from Braxton’s future musical endeavors? Keep reading to find out more about Toni Braxton’s backpedaling on retirement.

The Original Retirement Announcement and Reasons Behind It

You might remember when you thought Toni Braxton was retiring due to health concerns, but she’s backtracking on that decision now. Back in February 2018, the seven-time Grammy winner announced her retirement from music. She cited her ongoing battle with lupus as the main reason for her decision.

At the time of her announcement, Braxton said that she wanted to focus on her health and spend more time with her family. She also mentioned that she had accomplished everything she set out to do in the music industry and felt it was time to move on.

However, it seems like Braxton has had a change of heart. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed that she would never retire from music. ‘I will never retire…ever, ever,’ she said.

It’s great news for fans who have been eagerly waiting for new music from the singer since her last album release in 2018.

Braxton’s Change of Heart and Return to Music

After previously considering stepping away from music, the renowned artist has now made a surprising decision to return to the industry. Toni Braxton recently announced that she’ll never retire and plans to continue making music for the rest of her life.

This comes as a huge relief for fans who were disappointed when Braxton initially announced her retirement. Braxton cited health issues and financial struggles as reasons why she originally planned on retiring. However, it seems that her love for music ultimately won out.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she stated, “I thought about it and I said, ‘Why don’t you just do what you love?'”It’s clear that Braxton can’t imagine living without music in her life.

Fans can expect new material from Braxton soon, as she’s currently working on a new album. She’s also been teasing potential collaborations with other artists on social media. It’s exciting news for those who’ve been missing Braxton’s soulful voice and powerful ballads. With her return to the industry, it looks like we can expect many more years of incredible music from this legendary artist.

Conclusion

So there you have it, dear reader. Toni Braxton, the iconic R&B singer who once announced her retirement from music, has made a complete U-turn on that statement.

In fact, she’s now saying that she’ll never retire…ever!

With this change of heart comes renewed hope for Braxton fans everywhere.

After all, with such an impressive career already under her belt and so many more years of musical talent ahead of her, it’s clear that Toni Braxton is not done yet.

So keep your eyes and ears open, because it looks like we can expect plenty more soulful ballads and catchy tunes from this talented artist in the years to come.
