Miley Cyrus may not have many people in her corner saying "go ahead girl, keep on twerkin," but Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins (of TLC) is all for it.

"Let’s be real, girls have been naked and doing stuff like this, twerkin’ — it’s just a different name for gyratin’, booty-shakin’, they just change the name, people been doing it since the end of time, why are they riding Miley so hard about what a lot of them have been doing the same thing? She’s coming out with good music, she’s doing her thing, it’s selling, and evidently the twerk is not stopping the record sales," T-Boz told VH1 on the red carpet at VH1's "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" premiere this week.

Whether or not you agree with T-Boz, she does have a point. Miley Cyrus' music is selling and honestly, it's selling better than any of her previous efforts.

Landing at no.1 on the Billboard 200 Wednesday, Cyrus' "Bangerz" album sold 270,000 copies in the U.S. — her best debut to date.

In related news, Miley Cyrus has been asked to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Joining a line up that includes Katy Perry, Cyrus will be performing when the show takes place November 10 at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome.

If you’ve been paying attention to the music industry in recent years, you’re likely familiar with Miley Cyrus’s twerking. It’s a signature move that has become synonymous with the pop star and her brand. However, not everyone is a fan of this provocative dance style, and it has faced criticism from some corners of society.

That’s where TLC’s T-Boz comes in – she’s standing up for Miley and defending her right to continue twerking. In an industry that is constantly evolving, marketing tactics are essential for success. Twerking may seem like a controversial choice for marketing purposes, but T-Boz makes a compelling case for its effectiveness.

As someone who has experienced firsthand what it takes to stay relevant in the music business, she knows that sometimes you have to push boundaries and take risks to get noticed. In this article, we’ll explore T-Boz’s defense of Miley Cyrus’s twerking and examine whether or not it really is selling in today’s music industry.

T-Boz’s Defense of Miley Cyrus’s Twerking

T-Boz says keep twerkin’ Miley, it’s selling and she’s defending her! The former TLC member is standing up for the pop star’s controversial dance moves.

In an interview with TMZ, T-Boz defended Cyrus by saying that the twerking trend has been around for years and that people need to accept it as a legitimate form of dance. She also pointed out that music is all about selling and Cyrus’s twerking is simply helping her sell records.

Many fans have criticized Cyrus for her provocative behavior on stage, but T-Boz argues that it’s all part of the entertainment industry. She believes that as long as people are willing to pay for tickets to see Cyrus perform, there is no reason why she should stop twerking.

T-Boz even went on to say that she would be more concerned if Cyrus was not being true to herself and simply following what others wanted her to do.

While some may disagree with T-Boz’s defense of Miley Cyrus, it shows how important it is to support other women in the entertainment industry. Instead of tearing each other down, we should be celebrating each other’s success and unique talents.

Whether you agree with Cyrus’s style or not, there is no denying that she has made a name for herself in the music world and continues to push boundaries with her performances.

The Viability of Twerking as a Marketing Tool in the Music Industry

Contrary to popular belief, twerking has proven to be a successful marketing tool for musicians looking to boost their sales. The controversial dance move has been used by numerous artists in recent years to create viral moments and draw attention to their music.

Miley Cyrus is a prime example of this trend. Her infamous performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which featured her twerking alongside Robin Thicke, caused a stir and became an instant talking point. However, it also helped propel her album ‘Bangerz’ to the top of the charts.

Even today, twerking continues to be a popular marketing tactic. Artists like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have utilized the dance in their music videos and performances, resulting in massive success. It may not be for everyone, but there’s no denying that twerking can help sell records and make an artist stand out in a crowded industry.

Conclusion

So, there you have it. T-Boz has spoken, and she’s standing up for Miley Cyrus’s twerking.

While some may criticize the pop star for her provocative dance moves, T-Boz sees it as a smart marketing tool that is helping Cyrus sell records. And in today’s crowded music industry, anything that helps an artist stand out and get noticed can be a valuable asset.

While opinions on twerking may be divided, there’s no denying its impact on popular culture. From music videos to live performances, this dance move continues to generate buzz and capture attention.

And whether you love it or hate it, one thing is clear: twerking isn’t going away anytime soon. So if you’re looking to make a name for yourself in the music industry, maybe consider incorporating some twerking into your routine – after all, according to T-Boz, it’s selling!
