Charges against rapper Warren G, who was arrested June 7th for being in a car with marijuana have been dropped according to reports. A spokeswoman for Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley said there was insufficient evidence to prove the rapper, whose real name is Warren Griffin III, knew about the drugs. Griffin was traveling with another man, Ryan Butler, in a car registered to a third party. That person was not in the vehicle when it was pulled over by Los Angeles police officers early Sunday morning in Hollywood, spokeswoman Shiara Davila said. Authorities said the men ran a red light and that the marijuana was found in the trunk. Griffin and Butler were released later Sunday after posting $20,000 bail. Police had been seeking felony charges against the pair. Warren G recently inked deal with TTL Records and Koch Entertainment Distribution to release the follow up to his 2005 independent album âIn The Mid-Nite Hourâ which featured collaborations with Nate Dogg and Raphael Saadiq. The new album is rumored to be released later this year.
