Five artists and only three albums dropped this week. The first three names, Tank, Ginuwine and Tyrese, have already proven their skills as individual acts, but forged a brotherhood to solidify their legacy with the super group TGT. The others are two new acts, August Alsina and Ro James, who has been releasing free tracks all year leading up to the release of their new projects.

Seventeen tracks solid, there aren’t many features from outside parties (only rapper Problem on “No Fun”), but Tyrese’s rapper alter ego, Black-Ty, makes an appearance on the first track “Take It Wrong.” But with three superstars, '3 Kings' seems something like an R&B platter full of ready-made features with Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank on each track!
August Alsina – Downtown: Life Under the Gun – BUY NOW
August Alsina is a completely brash teenager. The Def Jam signee leans to the the streets rather than pigeon holing himself with only records for the naked hugs. 'Downtown Life Under the Gun' marks his first official project under the house Russell Simmons built.
Ro James – Jack EP – BUY NOW
Early this month Ro James was the featured performer at "Singersroom Live at the Aloft," so we knew what to expect with the second installment from his 'Coke, Jack, & Cadillacs' three-part series. He is an artist to keep an eye on. The 4-track EP features subtle instrumentals and relatable topics.
