Singer Robin Thicke reached a musical milestone today. His 6th studio album, 'Blurred Lines', lands atop the Billboard 200 chart. According to Nielsen Soundscan, 177,00 copies sold is what got him there. That’s not to say that the chart topping single of the same name didn’t contribute to the number one rank–it’s literally everywhere. Thicke’s next single is set to be “Give It U,” featuring Kendrick Lamar; definitely another summer hit.
Thicke was close in ’08 when his album “Something Else” debuted at number three on the charts with 137k sold. There’s nothing blurry about this though, “Blurred Lines” is number one, he’s got the magic.
In related news, the single "Blurred Lines," featuring Pharrell and T.I., is enjoying its eighth consecutive week at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
