The Singersroom sponsored R&B Spotlight is back at New York's SOB’s on Sunday July 21, 2013.
As we continue to support Grassroots talents, R&B Spotlight pledges to celebrate the melodic sounds of your favorite national and local R&B talents. Additional, this month will feature special guest performances from Grammy Nominated singer SunShine Anderson and southern hummingbird Tweet.
“We hope that by inviting national acts, we’ll inspire up and coming artists to pursue their dreams,” event producer Cory Taylor shares with Singersroom.
Tweet released the 5-track EP, Simply Tweet, in February (2013), led by the single, "Enough," a record that talks "directly to the ladies, letting them know that it's okay to let go," and other sultry cuts including "Day Dreaming" and "Sorry." Meanwhile, SunShine Anderson released her third studio album, The Sun Shines Again, in November 2010, led by the single “Lie To Kick It.” The album, which she says is for her ladies, reunited her with hit producer, Mike City, the man who signed Anderson to her first recording contract in 2000.
Over the years, Chart-topping superstars have headlined shows including Carl Thomas, R.L. of 90’s R&B group, Next; Meelah of 702, Kenny Lattimore, Musiq Soul Child, Marsha Ambrosius, Mario Winans, and Sisqo, lead singer of multi-platinum group Dru Hill.
Doors open at 7 p.m. show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets $20 at the door on day of the event (Purchase now online).
