For the second episode of Jarvis' Past, Present and Future, he takes to us to Atlanta, the city that shaped his music talent and offered him his first opportunity on a record label.

Jarvis' creative foundation was born in his hometown, but his move to Atlanta during the time the city was cementing itself as a music center, added flavor to his music style. “It molded my sound just being in that environment,” said Jarvis. With artists from around the country relocating to Atlanta, it forced each singer to develop their individual style. Outside of Usher, artists like Lloyd and Bobby V used the city to start their career.

After signing his first record deal with Jermaine Dupri years ago, Jarvis returned to the recording studio with Jermaine Dupri for his forthcoming album. “Working with Jermaine Dupri has inspired me a lot. It has taught me how to have a better work ethic [and] just how to be loose and have fun while in the studio.”
