Rihanna and Keyshia Cole are heading into the Holiday season with strong debuts on the charts.
Their respective albums “Unapologetic” and “Woman To Woman” are heading for the top 10 based on recently released projections.
Rihanna is set to make the biggest debut of her career with a reported 240-260,000 copies of the “Diamonds” led album “Unapologetic.” Her seventh studio album overall, this project could be her first to take the top spot on the Billboard 200, ironically seven years after she sang “Pon De Replay,” which led her debut offering “Music of the Sun.”
Keyshia Cole’s “Enough of No Love” and “Trust and Believe” led album “Woman To Woman” will follow somewhere in the top 10 with a projected 75-85,000 copies sold. This album follows Cole’s 2010 effort “Calling All Hearts,” which debuted at no.9.
In other news, Kelly Clarkson’s “Greatest Hits” album is set to debut with 45-50k sold first week.
Fellow “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips should debut with around 140-160k of his debut, “The World From The Side of The Moon,” sold.
Official numbers will be made public next week.

It’s a tale of two powerhouse singers as Rihanna and Keyshia Cole are poised to make top 10 album debuts this week. The music industry has been eagerly awaiting the release of both albums, which have already generated massive amounts of buzz and anticipation from their respective fan bases. Will one artist prevail? Or will they share the spotlight in a rare show of musical solidarity? Let’s take a closer look at what each artist brings to the table for this hotly contested battle for chart supremacy.

Rihanna is no stranger to success; her series of hit singles have made her an international superstar with legions of fans around the world. Her latest single “Work” featuring Drake was recently certified double platinum, setting the stage for her highly-anticipated eighth studio record “Anti.” Despite her strong track record in the music business, she faces stiff competition from Keyshia Cole who is looking to make a major comeback with her seventh studio album “Point Of No Return”.

Cole first burst onto the scene more than ten years ago with hits like “Love” and “Heaven Sent,” but has since taken time off to focus on personal matters. Now she’s back with a vengeance and ready to reclaim her place amongst R&B royalty. With production by some of today’s biggest names such as Timbaland and DJ Mustard, it looks like she could be well on her way to achieving that goal.

Artist Backgrounds

Rihanna and Keyshia Cole, two chart-topping female artists, are poised for top 10 album debuts on the Billboard 200. Both artists have achieved success in their respective musical genres throughout their careers.

Rihanna is a pop/R&B singer from Barbados who has released nine full-length albums since 2005. She has had multiple number 1 singles around the world and is one of the best selling music artists of all time. Her most recent album ANTI was certified triple platinum by the RIAA, making her the first solo artist to achieve 20 top ten hits on the US Hot 100 chart.

Keyshia Cole is an American R&B singer whose debut single “Love” peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004. Since then she has gone onto release seven studio albums with several top 10 hits such as “Let It Go” featuring Missy Elliott and Lil Kim which reached number 7 on the US Hot 100 chart. Cole’s latest album 11:11 Reset debuted atop the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart back in October 2017.

Both Rihanna and Keyshia Cole have demonstrated impressive staying power throughout their careers and it looks like that trend will continue with their latest releases expected to enter into the top 10 of the Billboard 200 charts this week.

Album Promotions

Both Rihanna and Keyshia Cole have been promoting their albums heavily in the lead up to its release. To promote her new album ANTI, Rihanna has embarked on a tour across North America and Europe as well as making several appearances on talk shows such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Furthermore, she partnered with Tidal to stream her album exclusively for one week prior to its official release.

Keyshia Cole also released snippets of songs from 11:11 Reset via social media ahead of the album’s debut. She held an exclusive listening session which was broadcasted live online along with participating in interviews at various radio stations and making numerous TV show appearances including Access Hollywood Live and BET’s 106 & Park. Additionally, she launched a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #KCIssue117 where fans could submit questions about her upcoming album or post pictures showing their support for it.

Overall, both artists have used a variety of strategies to ensure their albums stand out amongst the competition this week. Through effective marketing campaigns, they have created strong anticipation among their fan bases which should result in successful debuts on the Billboard 200 chart.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it’s clear that Rihanna and Keyshia Cole have been working hard to promote their respective albums. They’ve utilized various platforms in order to get the word out about what they’re offering music lovers. Both artists have created unique pieces of work which will surely be appreciated by fans all over the world. Their passion for creating great music has resulted in two highly anticipated album debuts. It’ll be interesting to see if both albums make it into the top 10 this week. Regardless of where each artist ends up on the charts, we can expect them both to continue releasing quality content throughout 2021. All eyes are now on these talented women as they strive to show us why they deserve a place among music’s elite acts. We wish them luck!
