Frank Ocean made his anticipated debut at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Thursday.
Taking the stage amidst fire and smoke, Ocean delivered with “Thinkin’ Bout You.”

Ocean was nominated for Best New Artist, but lost to boy band One Direction. He was commended for “coming out” early in the ceremony as Kevin Hart went through his opening monologue.
The MTV Video Music Awards aired Thursday, September 6 on MTV.
